Lean Into Your Faith
Lean into Your Faith
Charlie Kirk was shot today. If you don’t know who he was, be sure to listen to his shows. He was a fast talking, fast thinking, articulate, Godly man who went to college campuses to debate young people and make them think instead of being indoctrinated. He defended God and his standards everywhere. He was 31 yrs old with a beautiful wife and 2 small children. Yes, the evil is getting thicker, like a blanket that covers the world. If you turn on your TV you will hear lies and distortions about good people, but instead they tell you that abortion is a woman’s right, same sex marriage is a right, and breaking laws and rules are fine. If you stand up for God or good, you are the terrible person and you are wrong. The enemy seems to be winning. He is ramping up his attacks, because his time is short. I heard a debate where an atheist said that Christians just use their faith as a crutch. It isn’t helping but people lean on it when things are bad, like an alcoholic with a bottle (his words). What a sad view. If only he knew Jesus, he would see how much comfort and help Jesus gives in hard times.
Last week I wrote about how God is preparing heaven for us and how we cannot begin to comprehend how amazing it will be. But we do not have to wait to go to heaven to receive God’s blessings, gifts and grace. God is good every day and is with us every day. So today, don’t lean ON your faith, lean into it. Lean into the one who died for you. Who created the heavens and the earth, hung the stars in the sky. Parted the seas more than once!!
Psalms 126:3. The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy".
Jeremiah 17:7-8 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots in the stream.
Lord, help us always to trust in you. We know that persecution is coming but it has already started when Godly men who just have conversations can be shot and killed for no reason other than his love of you. Give us strength Lord, for the days ahead. Amen.
